STRENGTH

Mountains endure all of nature’s harshest elements while remaining upright and strong. Seeking counselling demonstrates undeniable strength to withstand the elements of your personal life.

FLOW

Life encounters swells. Some are small and playful while others thrash us around. Counselling provides the support and tools required to handle life’s often unpredictable swells.

CONNECTION

Trees do not stand alone, living in connection through intricate root systems. We are also connected, and recognizing this connection to community is vital to one’s mental health. Counselling relationships can be a pillar in ones community of care.

PERSPECTIVE

Birds-eye view offers a higher perspective. The counselling process will provide you new perspectives, and help you find some space from unwanted thoughts, conditionings, or past situations that are impacting your life.

GROWTH

Following your true nature invites a sense of vibrancy and light within, that then shines outwards. Various life experiences and trauma can disconnect us from our sense of self. Through the counselling process, you can re-explore, and eventually return to what feels like your true self.

Areas of Practice

ANXIETY

Anxiety and panic can be debilitating. Luckily, there are ways to cope with these feelings so that they aren’t “running” your life anymore. Mindfulness, cognitive behavioral therapy, and Somatic-Based Therapy are some excellent therapeutic methods for working with anxiety. We’ll collaborate to find a strategy that works for you.

TRAUMA

After experiencing an overwhelming and unexpected event, it can be difficult to live and enjoy the present moment. You may feel disconnected from yourself and your body, as if you are living in a defensive or ‘shut down’ state. Intense feelings, flashbacks, being easily triggered, and at times nightmares, are all normal responses to trauma. Luckily, there are ways to cope with these symptoms so that you may live freely in the present. Coming back to your true self after experiencing trauma is possible!

TRANSITIONS

Major life transitions like finishing school, moving, becoming a parent, or starting a new job are all apart of life. However, adjusting to any kind of big change can be filled with many challenges. If you are passing through a transition and feeling stuck or anxious, the support of a qualified professional can be helpful.

DEPRESSION

Depression can affect anybody; young or old, rich or poor, and any gender expression. Feelings of sadness are a part of life. However, if you start noticing that feelings of sadness are affecting your life in a big way, reach out to your doctor, a healing professional, or a counsellor for support. You don’t have to go through these feelings alone.

GRIEF AND LOSS

No one gets through this life without experiencing grief. In the words of Francis Weller, author of The Wild Edge of Sorrow, “Every one of us must undertake an apprenticeship with sorrow. We must learn the art and craft of grief, discover the profound ways it ripens and deepens us”. Grief is a deeply personal process, not easily reduced to a set of stages. There is no “right” way to do it, only your way. And if you become lost in a sea of emotions, a little support from a professional can be helpful.

RELATIONSHIPS

We are social beings and require connection with others. Hurt happens in relationships, but so does our healing. In therapy, we will likely discuss some relationships in your life. We may explore your attachment style, learn about healthy boundaries, and practice effective communication skills.
